Are ‘electroceuticals’ the be all and the end all?

Thousands of years ago, the Chinese discovered that the disruption of Yin Yang energy flow leads to diseases and used acupuncture to treat diseases! The Hindu and Buddhist equivalents are the yogic Chakras, which are points in the human body, i.e. major plexuses of arteries, veins, and nerves that are centres of life force (prana) or vital energy.

Now GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals has come up with the new concept called electroceuticals/bioelectronics, which treat diseases with electrical impulses. Sounds like Sci-Fi! Whether it’s old wine in a new bottle or new wine in an old bottle, it’s going to be a reality sooner rather than later!

The one big advantage of this novel medicine is the lack of adverse effects, which is the USP of electroceuticals! This solves another problem too: the long drought that the pharma world faced after coining neutraceuticals over a decade ago!
